What a great TV. I bought the 42 inch Plasma. I was concerned after ordering it and finding the Cnet review on this model. WHen it came and i hooked it up, all those concerns went out the window. It actually does display a 1080p picture. At 1024x768 the picture is just fine! The only real complaint are the built in speakers. They are garbage and sound like a tin can. Remedy. 5.1 surround system.
All this talk about the Green display is non existent to me. I tried many channels and different hues of green. It looks fine! Some really dark scenes have a little grain to them but i lowered the contrast to 45, upped the brightness to 60 and sharpness to 2. Looks beautiful!
The cons on this system are easy to work around because of how bright the system is. I have never seen a TV with such a awesome display of brightness. And it doesnt get washed out either. ( unless the contrast is too high) The sleek look is pleasing to the eye and the internal display, although not high tech, does the job and it is easy to navigate. Thats all that matters, really. No Picture In Picture but i can live without that. ( my son can not) I am very happy with my first Plasma flat screen, being a previous Projector owner. This TV is a great start and i am sure in a few years i will want to upgrade. This does the job wonderfully for now. At 599.00 from Sears, you cant go wrong! Hope this helps you in your choice!
