i bought my Vizio VP422 used about 3 months ago from someone who had owned it for a year and after reading the reviews I got a little scared. So far knock on wood, its really good. The colors and picture quality is fantastic. I have it hooked up to my dvd player and ps3. The screen emits a lot of heat and I hear clicking noises after I turn it off which is a little annoying. I would give it a 3/5 rating.

I dont know why everybody keeps having such a bad time, i bought my vizio 2 years ago, i have never had a single problem with it, I have an xbox thorugh rgb hooked up, fiber optic out to a 1100 watt souny surround, Sony Bluray hooked up and it is sharp as i have seen. I compare the image with many other t.v's I bought a Sony 52" Lcd Bravia and returned that piece of crap because my 42" vp422 was sharper and didnt have that fake british television look (actors on a stage feel) So to everybody who bought a bad t.v from vizio, better you than me, mine rocks, thanks Vizio.

my vizio plasma worked exactly one year 4 months also. it is at the repair shop now. the technican informed me that walmart wants to sell cheap tv's, so the manufacturers make a cheaper tv especially for walmart and they don't hold up. I am so sad I bought this tv. it was $850 and no warranty. I will not buy another one and vizio, shame on you.

Wow lucky for me my Vizio vp422 42'' 1080i HD tv works really well the whole thing all of it . I have owned it since 11/20/08
pros = it works great with an amazing picture quality .and sound is awesome ! Plus I paid 560.00 all in .
cons= it puts off a lot of heat and seems to be heated up even when off . So I have attached it to a AC strip I turn off when not in use . So far so good knock on wood .

Yeah I saw the low price and my mouth started to water...I mean 638.00 was a sweet deal worked fine for a year & 4 months...main power board went out...would have cost me 460.00 to fix. I told the repair guy no thanks...but that is my luck. Until that happened I loved it !!

These people who are leaving bad reviews are either dumb or work for Toshiba. It works better than my DLP, period. Very lightweight, beautiful looking, and compared to the price of other Plasmas, the real deal. Why does ESPN advertise these sets if they're no good? Come on peope? The reviewer who says she can't get DVDs to play in color? Are you kidding me?The DVD plays only in black and white? That lady can't be serious! My Blu ray Player hooked up in no time. Guess you got to know the difference between a HDMI cable and rabbit ears! Get into the 20th century ya'll! VIZIO is the best!

I enjoyed the cheaper price and the fair quality of the television until something went wrong then I found out the true side of VIZIO. The warranty covers everything... everything but the TV. They completely bend the consumer over and really ram home the fact you bought the cheaper TV. Oops should have sprang another couple hundred for a decent TV and an honest company. Don't waste your money on this, spend the extra $300 and deal with a company who cares about their customers.

Hello fellow shoppers. I will share my experience here for the 2nd time for the site shuts my computer down for some reason. A lot to type for some reason. Must mean this is a review to read and think about. I shopped long and hard to find this model TV around my area. Apparently out of the 5 major distributors places the last place only had 1 do to so many returns on this model. I should have seen it but it was my birthday gift and supposed to be here for the football and holiday season for family and friends to gather and enjoy. The price seemed too good to be true. It was! I bought the TV on 10/6 and by 11/3 its audio and video had no longer felt the need to work. The tech support through 5 basic questions determined it to be the motherboard that failed in less that a months time. They shipped the new board to the local technician taking about a week and then another few days to set the visit to repair on location. The tech schedule to come and apparently the 4-5 question test was not so accurate at trouble shooting a faulty TV and the part was not the problem. The customer support is very nice and prompt about calling and responding but I have owned the TV longer broken now then working after staring at this decoration as the football and holiday season pass before the me. So remember to shop smart this holiday season. By the way the newest update is another week or so to bring the replacement TV. Remember a company that Doesn't sell reputation Doesn't have anything worth buying. Good luck fellow shoppers.
