Samsung PN58C6500 Review: 58” Plasma HDTV

Up for Review: Samsung PN58C6500 Plasma TV. Especially intended to give watchers the feeling like they’re in a 3D theater, this is a large 58” model in Samsung’s 6500 plasma model line.

Even if a show was not created as a 3D program, this set transforms regular TV programs into 3D shows.

TheReal Black Filter helps improve what you see, by outdoing the volume of external light reflected. This makes the picture consistent, even during daytime.

This set’s energy efficiency is also a factor worth noting. This model exceeds the Energy Star 4.0 standards significantly — at 26% over the minimum requirement. Such eco aspects may not make your picture any better, but if your utility bills get lower and your carbon footprint disappears slightly, that can only be a positive. These are also thin sets. Additionally, Samsung Plasma TVs have no external transceiver boxes, which reduces amount of hardware in your entertainment center.
