Samsung PN43F4500AF Review – 43-inch Plasma HDTV

Originally Reviewed on May 20th, 2014

Up for Review: Samsung PN43F4500AF Plasma HDTV.

The PN43F4500AF is the smallest in line of the F4500Af series. This product is offered as a budget option and without any smart or futuristic facility. It is as basic as the modern plasma could get. However, in many ways this seems to be of advantage. No one really appreciates paying a thousand dollars extra for 3D compatibility. Further, 3D movies are best experienced in theatres. In the household, no one would like putting on those bulky 3D glasses for watching the regular news of the daily soap. For budget shoppers, this is the perfect TV as they won’t be paying for anything that don’t require. However, if you are looking to listen to the demands of the teenagers in the house, you may as well bring in a Roku box at a fraction of the extra cost you would have paid for a smarter option. In many ways the Samsung PN43F4500AF is similar to the ones in the F5300 series but with the exclusion of a 1080p HD playback.

Samsung PN43F4500AF Features and Specifications:

  • Display Panel Type: Plasma

The Samsung PN43F4500AF is all about the basics. Starting with the picture quality, Samsung does present an impressive color resolution with this product. Some will really be skeptical about the low 768p resolution but it will be important to note that majority of broadcasts and video games are available in 720p resolutions. The 768p resolution may not bear the bad rap that the low resolution comes with. It is still some time that the 768p will be functional and in demands and consumers have every reason to go for this product. Coming to the color reproduction, it seems that the Samsung PN43F4500AF has made great use of the color gamut and we see richer contrasts and sharp pictures. One will indeed be impressed by the flesh tones that the plasma is capable of producing. With great color accuracy across each shadow level, the Samsung PN43F4500AF is quite a revelation. While we had been suffering with the high end LEDs of Samsung recent releases, the PN43F4500AF does quite well with the side viewing angles. The color reproduction isn’t affected from any corner of the room. This is quite of a vale one could ask of $400 plasma.

With 2 HDMI ports, there is a lot of connectivity that the Samsung PN43F4500AF provides. Users can expect to plug n play movies directly from external devices like hard disk drives or video players. Alternatively, one can also plug in the camera and browse through the pictures that have been captured from the recent vacation. It’s amazing output in a 43 inch screen.

The appearance of the Samsung PN43F4500AF is minimalistic and again sticks to the basics. The TV can both be wall mounted or place don a stand.
