Panasonic plasmas have and apparently continue to be plagued with quality problems. I had mine for 5 days when it suddenly wouldn't turn on a picture. Instead, I get a flashing red LED at the bottom of the set. I remember reading a couple reviews on Amazon that said the same thing, but I'd hoped they were the exception rather than the rule. I've since done some reading online and found that previous Panasonic plasma TVs have also been plagued with a similar quality issue where by it just suddenly won't turn on. There is also consistency in the frustration in that even though the TVs are often still under warranty, it takes quite some time to order the required parts and time for the local repair shop to get the job done. I am so disheartened to feel that Panasonic has a history with this sort of quality issue.

Bottom-line: It doesn't matter how beautiful the picture was if it only lasted 5 days, 5 months, or especially 5 days after the warranty period expired. Given that I haven't found another 3D TV that doesn't have an issue with ghosting (double-image), I believe I need to wait for other more reliable manufacturers to come out with a better picture in another year or so and strongly recommend the same to my family and friends.
