Up for Review: Panasonic TH-P50G2 Plasma TV. Manufacturers have now begun the mad race for crowding the market with 3D ready TVs; Panasonic is one manufacturer that is still in a patronizing mode towards its plasma series. By launching two new Viera Plasma models G2 and S2, it definitely wants to provide something new to talk about to the Plasma panel fans. The models are expected to be released for Japanese market for the time being. The manufacturer claimed at the CES 2010 that it has increased the quality and reduced consumption up to 30% from the earlier G1 series. Panasonic TH-P50G2 comes three color options. The motive behind this must be to get the TV fit into the overall interior of the buyer.
Panasonic TH-P50G2 is equipped with the 1080p Full HD resolution and takes pride in its 5000000:1 contrast ratio. The manufacturer has integrated the super black panel which is easily borrowed from the Pioneer Plasma. In simpler terms, the viewer gets more of blacks and whites with the distinction that is going to please the eye. At the same time, it keeps the bezel slim and wants to place the G2 series in the league at least for it neat appearance with the other models that have stunned reviewers.
Panasonic TH-P50G2 Features and Specifications Review:
- 50” display
- 1080p display resolution
- 3 HDMI
- 5000000:1 contrast ratio
Panasonic TH-P50G2 doesn’t compromise on the connectivity front and if not the internet suit that seems to attract buyers this year, it provides enough scope for streaming content which is quite acceptable. There are 3 HDMI ports that can be connected to receive video files from different sources. There is also the D-Sub and S-Video as well as 3 composite interfaces. You also get an earphone or headphone jack with options for Ethernet port.
With all these features Panasonic TH-P50G2 does take on its lead among the Plasma models. Though the price actually comes as a bit higher on the side for an average buyer, this must be caused by the higher resolution that is required to ensure better quality imaging. Panasonic Viera may find its way into the Asian market any time soon if the manufacturer does wants to increase the sale and also provide a treat to those who still vouch for Plasma panels. While Panasonic TH-P50G2 happens to be the biggest screen size in this series, there are two more sizes that are available, namely 46” and 40”.
HDTVUniverse.com gives Panasonic TH-P50G2 4/5 stars!
