Up for Review: Panasonic TC-P46G25 Plasma TV. For people interested in buying a great HDTV with the latest technology and a specific emphasis on accessing content from the Internet, this is just the TV for you. With the Viera Cast feature allowing you to view online video content from sites like Netflix, Pandora, YouTube, Twitter, Fox Sports and the like, you will no longer need the computer to view this content. There are efforts to have more online partners to broaden the options in this field. Soon you may have access to any site you want and can stream content to watch on the TV. The Ethernet port has been provided for this purpose.
Among the Viera Cast Internet capabilities is the access to Skype online calling and video conferencing. This is perhaps the best and inexpensive way of contacting your dear ones over the Internet and talking and viewing them at the same time. You may notice a lag in the voice when you talk and view, but this difficulty will soon be overcome in the coming months. Instead of talking to people all around the world on your computer, you can do it now on the 46-inch TV. This is the most interesting part of the Viera Cast functions and you can keep contact with all your family and friends through this TV.
Panasonic TC-P46G25 Features and Specifications Review:
- 46-inch HDTV
- 1080p resolution
- Infinite Black display with 5,000,000:1 native contrast ratio
- VIERA CAST
- Video call capability
- THX Movie Mode
- VIERA Image Viewer
- PC input
- Two USB ports
Besides the Internet capabilities, the Plasma panel is one of the most developed, with a full HD 1080p resolution to perk up the picture quality. An Infinite Black display with 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio speaks highly about the intensity of black levels in the Panasonic TC-P46G25. The 600 Hz sub field drive is one of the main features of this TV which accounts for the clarity and sharpness in the pictures along with perfectly fluid images with no blurring. This is where this Plasma TV has an edge over the LCD TVs. Even very high refresh rates in LCD TVs do not bring about the same amount of crispness in the pictures as this 600 Hz sub field drive.
Since no HDTV is complete today without an array of inputs and outputs, this TV too has its share to have the best connectivity possible. There are 3 HDMI which can be connected to high definition devices like the Blu-ray disc player to see movies in 1080p resolution. 2 USB ports give you access to digital devices and now watching the photos from the digital camera will be a pleasure on the 46-inch screen. There are also 2 component video and 2 composite video inputs. A PC input will help you to convert the entire TV into a computer and you can do your work or browse the Internet on the 46-inch display with 1080p resolution. You will feel great to own this TV as it will satisfy all your desires for entertainment except for the 3D one.
HDTVUniverse.com gives Panasonic TC-P46G25 4/5 stars!

This is a great TV but power board failed just in about a years time. Warranty work was done promptly in a week when Panasonic sent a new board to the repair person. It has been fine ever since the repair March 2010. Reading some reviews, this set has various problems. Could be because of the high power and heat. Hope that Panasonic has reduced some these problems with the new TV’s. I also own a Samsung 46″ that went out in just two and a half years. Waiting for warranty Check on it. It appears that many of the big name Companies have problems with some of their TV’s, so pick the one you like best and hope for the best..
