Under review, the 42PG25 is a new 42 inch plasma HDTV from LG Electronics. LG is focusing on style with the camouflaged speakers making them literally invisible. The LG 42PG25 features noiseless sharpness. This lends a crystal clear and natural look to the images allowing a “seamless viewing experience”. Its Dual XD engine gives character to the quality of all images. It improves upon the low resolution of analog signals and brings them up to near HD levels by optimizing brightness, contrast, detail and color. The addition of Fresh Color and Dynamic Y and C contrast gives a vibrant and colorful look to the images.
The Super Bright Panel with a contrast ratio of 20,000:1 reduces optical glare and provides vivid images without reflection. A quick response speed of 0.001 ms helps display sports and action sequences skillfully and without judder. The Clear Voice technology is integrated to automatically increase and amplify the sounds of the human voice frequency range. Dialogues can be heard with distinct clarity even when cacophony exists in the background.

The most unique feature of the 42PG25 is the “invisible speaker system”. This creates a impressive home theater experience without additional equipment. A real multimedia effect can be brought about by the three A/V modes. Picture and sound settings can be optimized for cinema, sports or game content. 4x HDMI with Deep Color supports different color depths. Several shades of the same color bring about a natural and life-like nature to the images. The User Friendly Interface menu system makes navigation simple this HDTV would last you 30 years if you view it 8 hours a day according to their expected life span.
Listed at $1099 MSRP, the LG 42PG25 is right in line with many of the budget brand HDTV’s. With a 42” screen, you may not notice the difference between 720p and 1080p as much but many other manufacturers offer the Full HD resolution for a similar price. However, the LG brand is more reputable than many of those budget brands.

I have a 47 inch LG plasma HDTV. Had for less than a year. Picture gave out and turning on and off is a stuggle. I hope this does not happen after the warranty is up. love the t.v. but its not perfect.
