Samsung UN50EH6000 Review – 50-inch LED LCD HDTVOriginally Reviewed on May 2nd, 2012
Up for Review: Samsung UN50EH6000 LED LCD HDTV. The 50-inch LED TV set is launched by Samsung to target the growing demand for backup TV set. With a gradual increase in the number of TV channels, it has become essential for a modern family to possess a second TV set to compliment the higher end 3D HD TV model placed in their main living room. The UN50EH6000 comes with an affordable price-tag and good video quality. But it lacks some of the advanced features offered by the higher end HDTV sets, launched by the manufacturer, including 3D compatibility and networking options to access internet.
The slim design, HD resolution and low price-tag of the device further allow buyers to use the model in a flexible manner. You can accommodate the model in a small apartment, or place in various parts of your home including study, bedroom and dormitory. However, you cannot buy the TV set for your kids’ room. The model will not be popular among the younger members of your family, as it does not allow them to access their favorite 3D movies and games.
The TV set offers 1080p HD resolution that can compliment a wide variety of movies, television programs and other digital content. Also, most of the latest digital content made originally in 1080p HD resolution. So your family members watch a wide variety of television programs and movies aired across different channels in an HD resolution. The resolution will further enhance the quality of normal TV programs like news, weather, family dramas and talk shows.
Samsung UN50EH6000 Features and Specifications Review:
- 1080p HD Resolution
- 120 Hz Subfield Motion Rate
- Wide Color Enhancer Plus
- 2 HDMI and 1 USB Port
- ConnetShare Movie
Samsung has further improved the video quality offered by the model with strong black levels and saturated colors. But the 120 Hz refresh rate offered by the TV set will impact your TV viewing experience. Also, the subfield motion rate is much lower than the feature offered by the higher end models launched by the manufacturer. The refresh rate is still effective in making the faster moving sports and action scenes enjoyable by reducing motion blur. However, the feature may not suit the level of speed and motion required by the latest movies and video games.
Unlike the HDTV models launched by Samsung under the UNES65000 series, the UN50EH6000 Is not designed with any wired or wireless networking options to enable users to access internet. But it comes with 2 HDMI and 1 USB ports that allow you to access your offline collection of movies, music, videos, photos and games. You can connect a camcorder, digital camera and video game console to the TV set and access the content stored on these devices on a 55-inch LED screen. Similarly, the digital content stored on the CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs can be access on the TV screen by connecting a Blu-ray player to the TV set. However, the model does not include a SD memory card slot. So the users will miss any direct options to access the digital content stored on their SD memory cards.
