Westinghouse LD-2680 Review: 26” inch LED LCD HDTV
Up for Review: Westinghouse LD-2680 LED LCD TV. There are many users who prefer to purchase HDTVs with smaller screen size to use the models in a flexible manner. The small sized TV sets can be accommodated in a small sized apartment as well as place in various parts of the house like the bedroom, dinning space or dormitory. Westinghouse has launched this 26-inch LED model at an affordable price-tag and with a set of basic features.
Unlike some of the more high-end models launched by the manufacturer, the LD-2680 lacks some of the advanced features like 3D technology support and internet access options. But the video quality and resolution offered by the model meets the requirements of a second or back up TV set for your family. Further, the slim and lightweight design of the model allows you to place and use it in a more flexible and convenient manner.
Despite of sporting a 26-inch screen size, the model offers 1080p HD resolution that is the maximum as per the current digital video standards. The resolution will suit the requirements of your family members to access wide variety of movies and television programs being aired across the television channels. As most of the latest movies and television content are being made in an original 1080p HD resolution, you can use the model to watch the traditional as well as latest digital content. However, the video quality is impacted by the 60 Hz refresh rate offered by the TV set.
Westinghouse LD-2680 Features and Specifications Review:
1080p HD Resolution
60 Hz Refresh Rate
Slim and Light Design
176 Degrees Horizontal and Vertical Viewing Angle
2 HDMI Terminals
The 60 Hz refresh rate is normal and looks almost basic in comparison to the advanced television sets available in the market. It will not have a huge impact on your viewing of normal television programs like news, weather, talk shows and family dramas. But the refresh rate will not be able to completely remove motion blur while watching the fast moving sports and actions scenes. The lower refresh rate will also impact your kids’ viewing of sports and action channels. However, the feature will not affect the usability of the model as a backup or second TV set for your home.
Westinghouse has included 2 HDMI models to allow users to access their offline collection of digital content directly on the TV screen. You can use these HDMI terminals to connect the TV set with compatible devices like camcorder, video game players and Blu-ray player. But you will miss any option to access the offline digital content stored on the USB devices and SD memory card. As you are not going to place the 26-inch LED TV set in your main living room, the overall connectivity features offered by it will not have any impact on the television viewing experience of your family members.
