Vizio XVT3D650SV Review: 65” LED LCD HDTV

Up for Review: Vizio XVT3D650SV LED LCD TV. Vizio has added to its already existing range of HDTVs having the latest innovative features of the decade, with this 65-inch set. Just like a magician pulling a trick from underneath his hat, Vizio has introduced this model with a flourish. Improving vastly over the conventional 3D technology, the manufacturer has integrated the Theater3D feature in this set along with 4 pairs of polarized 3D glasses for free. This is definitely an improvement over the 3D sets introduced by all the leading HDTV manufacturers at the beginning of the year which either gave one set of glasses or none at all. This was a letdown for people who loved to sit down together and watch TV in the living room as a family. Theater 3D is expected to give you much brighter images causing less ghosting and low eye-strain.

Though this set has the 3D feature, you can watch all 2D content in just the way you would in a 2D TV. The set is also compatible with many types of 3D formats. The set also has Edge Lit Razor LED backlighting with Smart Dimming which says it all for the picture quality. The Smart Dimming feature selectively powers up and turns off blocks of LEDs to give you darker blacks. The full-HD resolution is of course quite expected in a TV with such high-end features. Nonetheless, it adds to the quality of the images on the 65-inch screen.

Another important feature in this TV which needs to be highlighted is the Internet access feature which is sure to draw in quite a number of viewers. The VIZIO Internet Apps® and built-in dual-band 802.11n WiFi go hand-in-glove to give you access to the latest blockbusters, videos, music, social networking sites, photos and a lot more. Vizio also gives you a Bluetooth universal remote to do this without a hitch. The remote has a slide-out QWERTY keypad which helps you type onscreen and control the TV from quite a good distance away from the TV.

This set has a refresh rate of 120 Hz which is good enough to keep out the blurring from the action scenes. You can watch the movies and all the sports sequences just like they were filmed. The sound quality is of course, quite good too. There is immersive virtual high definition surround sound with SRS TruSurround HD and SRS TruVolume. You can truly experience the effects of a home theater system with 30W of output sound. And the TruVolume feature gets rid of the volume inconsistencies you get while changing channels or when the ads come on. This is truly a set you would want to buy if you can afford the price of $3699.99 MSRP.
