Up for Review: Vizio M550SV LED LCD TV. The 55-inch model is launched by Vizio by targeting growing demand for the HD TV sets. It does not support the 3D technology, but offers much better and improved audio and video quality to access a wide variety of digital contentment. A user also gets a number of networking and connectivity related features to access additional online and offline content in addition to watching the programs, shows and movies being aired across various television channels.
Most of the latest movies, television programs and video games are being made in an original 1080p HD resolution. Your family members will require a model that offers the same resolution to watch their favorite television programs and movies. The model may not be popular among the kids as it does not offer them any option to access their favorite 3D enabled movies and video games. But the enhanced resolution will complement their experience of watching the sports and action related content in a HD resolution.
The kids will also like the increased 240 Hz refresh rate offered by the television set. With an increased subfield motion rate the model removes the motion blurs completely irrespective of the nature and type of the scene. Similar to the normal scenes like sports, action and family dramas, the feature is also effective in removing the motion blur while watching the fast moving sports and action scenes. Vizio has also included the Smart Dimming control that enables the TV set to automatically adjust the brightness, black levels and other colors based on the nature of the individual scenes.
Vizio M550SV Features and Specifications Review:
1080p HD Resolution
240Hz Smooth Motion
Razor LED backlighting with Smart Dimming
4 HDMI Terminals
Built-in Wi-Fi with Internet Apps
Two-sided Remote Control with QWERTY keyboard
The manufacturer has included a set of networking and connectivity related features that allow users to use their TV set just like a desktop computer. You can use the 4 HDMI terminals to access your offline digital library of movies, music, pictures and video clips on the 55-inch screen of the model. These terminals can also be used to connect a Blu-ray player to the TV set and access the digital content stored on various types of digital discs like CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs. Similarly, the HDMI ports also allow you to connect the TV set with compatible devices like camcorder and video game consoles.
However, the viewers will surely miss the absence of any option to directly access the digital content stored on USB devices, SD memory cards and personal computer. Vizio has included smart networking options to access internet on the TV screen without using any additional devices like personal computer or set-top box. The internet apps integrated with the TV set allow users to browse the internet and stay connected with their loved ones through popular social networks like Facebook and Twitter. You can even use these features to stream web content from a number of popular digital content networks like Netflix, VUDU HD movies and Pandora Internet radio.

Lloyd's reviewMarch 11, 2012
I purchased model M550SV on March 10, 2012. When I turned it on it automatically shut itself off 4 times in two hours. To me this indicates poor quality control. I will update my experience with online service later.

Had a 32 inch Vizio and had no problems with it except that there is no way to enlarge the app pages. Bought the 55″ a week ago. Spent everynight this week on the phone with tech support. They talked real sweet but hung up on me twice. Communication is hard. Vizio blamed Centurylink and Centurylink blamed Vizio. As of today it is working but seems to be slow loading. No one has really explained what the problem is. The TV has a beautiful picture but we are underwhelmed by the service and dissappointed that we have not been able to enjoy the new toy this week. Will try to remeber to update if things improve.
