I Bought this TV on the 26 of March of 2010. I too thought this was a great TV when i bought had an out-standing picture i was in absolute awe of the picture. I was completely pleased with my purchase, that is until before the first month from purchase i turned on the unit to see that the screen went totally pink. After calling Toshiba they took down my information and told me to get a hold of a local service center. after weeks of waiting the service center was finally given the go ahead to service my TV. the service man came took pictures of the set and submitted them to the Toshiba service center. i waited at least a month before hearing anything …finally the service center called and said they had the part. Toshiba and the service center said it was the T-con board which is part of the panel itself…now when a TV has something a costly as a panel wrong with it, most companies will just send out a whole new TV. The new panel was replaced and the screen didn’t change. Now take into consideration I am already getting frustrated with the lengthy wait. SO the service man calls Toshiba and again another part is ordered, this time a main board was the next part I am to wait on. I waited a month and a half, till Toshiba finally calls and says …well since you have been waiting so long for a resolution on your set we are deciding to take other means of fixing your TV weather it be a new set or whatever! OK i can live with that. But my relief was only short lived, because the next day Toshiba phones again stating that they found a main-board for me… OK what-ever i just want my set fixed like i had it before. The main-board finally shows up again another month later, Its installed and i think all is well. Nope not gonna happen! Later that night while i try tweaking the menu setting for the color brightness sharpness etc… i see lots of things going on with the picture that aren’t to my liking. There is much more signal noise adherent lots of blockiness in and around images on the screen. Saturation is overly sensitive, if i turn up the saturation to correct the way the picture is washed out it looks too glowy. The black level isn’t as black as it used to be. It looks more gray in color which is unheard of in a full matrix LED backlight system. Even one of the Toshiba reps i talked to said there is no reason that you should be seeing your blacks as gray, even during the daytime which is when i called him. I have been thrown back and forth between the service center and Toshiba to get this new problem resolved and all that Toshiba can say is we are sorry for your inconvenience but for us to do anything to further help you , you are going to have to have another service center to come to your house at the expense of the customer to have the set evaluated. There is nothing else that we are going to do to help you sir. I am sorry ppl but if you paid your hard earned money on a set that was a lemon to begin with that had a one year warranty you expect to get your monies worth out of it and not break within the first month of purchase. Each time i call Toshiba seems to have a new excuse as to why they don’t need to do anything else to fix the set they were so eager to sell to the public! If you ask me if you are looking to buy this set it is very nice , but if the company is not going to backup the warranty that it comes with it isn’t worth the $1800 dollar price tag that it was posted! I assure you Toshiba will not get another cent out of me or anyone else whom i speak to . It will catch up with them, because nobody will want to put themselves through as much horror as i have had to go through!
