TCL L40FHDF11TA Review: 40” LCD HDTV

Up for Review: TCL L40FHDF11TA LCD TV. A large number of manufacturers are introducing new LCD TV models, in spite of the huge popularity of the new models made by using the advanced LED technology. The sharp decline in demand has also resulted in a fall in the LCD TV prices and many companies want to sell more models at very less and affordable prices. TCL is among these companies who want to sell more sets at affordable prices. Just like other models made by TCL, the L40FHDF11TA sports a 40-inch LCD screen and comes with a much lower price tag, but still some of the advanced featured present in other sets available in the market is missing in this TV. However, you can still get good video quality at 1920 x 1080 maximum resolution, 400 cd/m² brightness, and 1080p vertical resolution. But the much lower refresh rate of 60 Hz will affect your viewing of fast moving action and sports scenes.

The normal pictures comes with much better clarity with the 3-D Y/C digital comb filter used in this model. Because of the 178 degrees viewing from both horizontal and vertical angles, you can view the scenes in a much better way even when you are not occupying the seat in front of the model. So, no more fighting with your kids or partner for occupying the most in-demand front-row seats. You can quietly sit in a corner seat and enjoy the show without any disturbance. It further includes built-in 8-watt speakers for providing better sound quality. But the sound seems of normal quality as the set does not support digital standards like Dolby or DTS. These standards are being used by most other sets available in the market for improving the sound quality, but the L40FHDF11TA scores low in this regard.

You will be impressed with the various input and output connectivity being offered by the system. It provides analog audio output through various devices like headphones. With the 3 HDMI and 2 composite and 2 PC input options, you can simultaneously connect multiple devices to the TV set and access the contents stored on those devices on a much larger 40-inch LCD screen. You can simultaneously connect your camcorder and DVD/Blu-ray player to the TV and watch the stored content on a wide screen with 1080p resolution. These functionalities make the set almost equal to a PC. But o enjoy their favorite your kids may complain when they will not be able to enjoy their favorite video games on a larger screen due to the low refresh rate being offered by the device. You can use some of the other features like sleep timer and channel labeling to use the model in a much easier manner.

In nutshell, the features provided by the L40FHDF11TA are good enough for the much lower price at which you can buy this TV. You can enjoy most of the normal shows, programs, and movies in a much better way on a 40-inch LCD screen. Also, connect multiple digital devices and access their contents on a much bigger screen. It gives you an option to keep it at your home as a back up or spare TV set or uses it at your office to watch news and weather related programs occasionally.

One Customer Review for “TCL L40FHDF11TA Review – 40-inch LCD HDTV”

  1. adalia fuller's reviewJune 18, 2012

Purchased tv before christmas in December 2011 and in may of 2012 the control board went out. Still had warranty on product and customer service through the warranty company was a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig hassle. Their customer service took about 2 days to actually get through for them to give information about sending the product out to get serviced. Too much hassle for a brand new tv.
