It is the tv in my bedroom, so I can't stand this noise because I like it quiet. Took that tv back, got the second one home to find it makes the same high-pitched noise. I have my magnavox (25 years old) in front of my brand new flat screen that needs to be taken back for the second time. Going with magnavox next time.
