Sony KDL-32BX330 Review: 32” LCD HDTV
Up for Review: Sony KDL-32BX330 LCD HDTV. The 32-inch LCD TV model launched by Sony can only be considered by the buyers to complement the need for a backup or second TV sets. You will miss most of the features offered by other high-end models launched by the manufacturer. In addition to the absence of 3D technology support and networking options to access internet, the TV set also does not offer features to support a wide variety of traditional and 2D content.
Unlike the LCD TV sets launched by Sony under the BX450 series, the KDL-32BX330 comes with a much smaller screen size. Also, it offers only 720p resolution that is much lower to support the latest digital content being made with original 1080p HD resolution. The resolution will support the normal television programs like news, weather, family dramas and chat shows. But the resolution will not support most of the latest movies and video games.
The model also lacks a number of video related features offered by other models like clear resolution enhancer and scene selects. So a user will not get any option to adjust the audio and video settings of the TV set based on the nature and type of the digital content. Further, Sony has designed the model with 60 Hz refresh rate. The subfield motion rate looks almost basic and dated in comparison to the LCD TV models currently available in the market. With the 60 Hz refresh rate, your family members can watch normal program that does not require a higher level of speed and motion.
Sony KDL-32BX330 Features and Specifications Review:
60 Hz Subfield Motion Rate
Digital Noise Reduction
40000:1 Image Contrast Ratio
2 HDMI and 1 USB Ports
However, the 60 Hz subfield motion rate is not effective in completely eliminating the motion blurs when you are watching faster moving scenes involving sports and action. The feature will not have a huge impact on the usage of the TV set as you are not going to place it inside your main living room. But you cannot consider the TV set to place inside their kids’ room. They will start complaining when they cannot watch their favorite sports and action channels along with playing video games. Further, the model will not offer them any option to access the latest movies and video games made with 3D technology support.
The model also does not come any wired or wireless options to access the online movies, music, videos, photo and applications. But Sony has included 2 HDMI and 1 USB port in the TV design that you can use to access your offline digital content library stored on various types of devices and discs. You can use the input ports to connect the TV set with compatible devices like camcorder, digital camera, Blu-ray palyers and video game consoles. But the almost normal video resolution and refresh rate offered by the model may not encourage users to access the offline digital content on the 30-inch TV screen.
