Up for Review: Sony Bravia XBR-46HX900 LCD TV. Sony Bravia XBR-46HX900 is the smaller sized model in the 3D ready full HD LCD display panel that comes with dynamic LED lighting. This high definition television is the latest offering from Sony which is expected to hit the market during the summer this year. This 46 inches HDTV is also equipped with Intelligent Dynamic LED backlight. While the debate on backlighting has always created interest Sony brings in the local dimming with this model. There is basically an array of LEDs that are placed behind the screen. These LEDs usually dim or radiate depending on the program requirement. This helps in getting the desired contrast and black levels. Along with its ambient sensor, it also optimizes color and brightness to help the viewer get the best picture quality in almost any lighting conditions in the room.
As Sony Bravia XBR-46HX900 is a 3D ready HDTV, it is compatible to Sony’s other 3D products. With the active shutter glasses and transmitter, this HDTV makes sure high quality 3D effect is created to give prove helpful for you 3D content. Powered with Sony’s Monolithic Design and an OptiContrast Panel, it helps minimize glare. This HDTV has a 1920x1080p resolution and Motionflow Pro 240Hz frame rate, which make sure you get crystal clear images without any shredding or blurring. Sony Bravia XBR-46HX900 also features 4x HDMI inputs along with PC VGA input which helps you stream content from the desired devices. The USB and DLNA media playback support are also present as in the older models from Sony. This model also incorporates optional Wi-Fi ready so that your home entertainment environment is complete from content broadcast and streaming options capabilities. Though the XBR features would not be present in the models launched in Europe, Sony still may just get customers hooked on to it, owing to its picture and sound quality advantages.
Sony Bravia XBR-46HX900 is loaded with Bravia Engine 3 and Bravia Internet video and widgets. This feature allows the viewer to stream content from Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, YouTube, NPR, Yahoo Widgets. Aesthetics wise, this model comes with an unusual stand that has a large metal strip which hold the entire base of the display. The plastic extension at the back also ensures stability. Sony has definitely tried to give this monolithic design a piece of its Space Odyssey that talks about an unusual and attractive view.

SONY TVS are garbage. They have a habit of blowing out right after the warranty expires, and Sony does NOTHING to help. If you want to waste 3000$ of your money on a TV that only last 2 years then Sony is the one you want. I know this from experience. I am going with Samaung for life. Sony is Banned! Garbage.

since purchasing my bravia lcd i’ve experienced eye strain its not a 3d set ,I’ve tried adjusting backlighting and other paramaters. Any suggestions. new tv and can’t watch it.
