Up for review: Sharp LC-40E67U LCD TV. The new AQUOS E67U Series is Sharp’s latest E Series range of LCD TV’s. The new LC-40E67U is part of Sharp’s E67U Series. Although the E67U Series models don’t have built-in Blu-ray players like the BD Series, the LCD models are very sleek and have additional features to set it apart from its competition.
From the specifications, it seems most of the features of the new Sharp LC-40E67U are pretty standard. But that doesn’t mean Sharp has nothing new to offer in this new AQUOS E67U Series. Equipped with Sharp’s innovative Advanced Super View (ASV) anti-glare panel, the LC-40E67U is designed to reduce lighting reflections while maintaining the picture quality. However, as many LCD’s these days come with anti-reflective coating, its yet to be seen how Sharp’s latest LCD will perform in comparison to them.
While the Sharp LC-40E67U supports full 1080p Resolution content, it lacks 120Hz refresh rate embedded with Fine Motion Enhanced technology, which is very much there in E77U Series. This could be one of the bigger missing features of the E67U Series. Without the Fine Motion Enhanced technology, you could potentially see blurring in fast action scenes..
Sharp has added Vyper Drive gaming mode in the LC-40E67U LCD model which would be a great addition to any game room. Slated to be available in March this year with a price of around $1,199.99, the detailed specification features of the new Sharp LC-40E67U is yet to be revealed. For instance, there is no info about the audio output.

Sharp is known for its environmentally friendly manufacturing products and the new E67U Series LCD is no different. Minimalist hazardous chemicals such as lead, mercury and cadmium has been used in the LC-40E67U LCD TV. Due to its energy saving features, this LCD is also Energy Star 3.0 compliant.
The Sharp LC-40E67U seems to offer standard connectivity options with its 4 HDMI™ (v1.3) inputs and 2 Component video inputs. As all the inputs are 1080p compatible, signals from high definition sources such as Blu-ray players and advanced gaming devices can be accessed with ease. Also movies can be enjoyed in their original 24p format. The 40” screen is prefect for small to mid-size room. But an additional PC input and RS-232 port is missing in this LCD model.
