Samsung LN26A330 Review – 26-inch LCD HDTV

Originally Reviewed on May 1st, 2008

Another member of the Samsung’s new Series 4, Samsung LN26A330 offers a full 26-inch of viewable screen, with very good aesthetics and plenty of connectivity options. And it doesn’t hurt when you couple it with the amazing picture quality and clarity this liquid-crystal display offers. Retailing for $699, this 720p set comes in Samsung’s signature bezel-black finish offering a very decent 5000:1 contrast ratio, with an 8 ms response time. A 26-inch screen size is a good sweet spot for those looking for a medium-sized display, and are constrained with space, such as those living in flats and dorm rooms. A quick rundown of the other features and specs of this Samsung display.

The LN26A330 comes across as an ideal choice as a secondary television for use in bedroom, offices and shops. It delivers a smooth and vibrant picture, as is the case with almost all displays sporting the Samsung logo. It also has great contrast, with high-quality, deep, black levels. The set has two HDMI ports, and two component video inputs, each capable of accepting video signals up to 1080i. And with 5 watts of speakers powering the display, the sound is also somewhat of a step up from the earlier models. Having said that, we’d still recommend a dedicated, external sound system if you want the best in audio quality. We were a little surprised to notice the absence of S-video input, and slightly weaker viewing angles as compared to other models from the company, but these are just minor shortcomings when compared to the quality and ease-of-use the Samsung LN26A330 offers. It is a very solid option for those in the market for a medium-sized display at an attractive price point.

HDTVUniverse.com gives the Samsung LN26A330 LCD HDTV 8/10 stars!
