Up for Review: Samsung 550EX LCD TV. The Samsung 550EX is the 55 inch model of the Large Format Display series that has several unique features to create unique viewing experience for the customers. With full HD 1080p resolution, the model is expected to be a perfect home entertainment solution.
Samsung has introduced an all-new feature to the models of this new series. This is the first time that the company has designed the LFD model with LED backlight technology. The Samsung 550EX, featured with the LED backlight technology, is expected to deliver superior picture with the large format display. Also, Samsung has aimed at designing the energy efficient HDTV models with the series. With the LED backlight technology used with this model, the user can be assured of reduced electric consumption. In fact, Samsung claims that the Samsung 550EX and other models of the series are the most energy efficient LCD displays. The model is also Energy Star 5.0 compliant.
Making the Samsung 550EX more efficient, the company has developed the model with advance features. A full HD resolution 1920×1080 pixel is able to create crisp images. Additionally, the 5000:1 contrast ratio helps clear display of stationary, moving or scrolling images. Again the model is equipped with 120Hz refresh rate which enables reduced motion blur.

Although, Samsung releases both EX and EXn model with 55 inch panel, the EXn models are developed with more advanced features. However, the Samsung 550EX is a good enough home entertainment solution.
