Panasonic TC-L42E3 Review: 42” LED LCD HDTV
Up for Review: Panasonic TC-L42E3 LED LCD TV. The model was previewed by Panasonic as a part of the VIERA® E3 Series LED HDTV. Among the three models announced as part of the series, the set comes with 42-inch screen. Panasonic has included a set of advanced features in this TV to provide better audio and video quality. But some of the wireless connectivity features, included in the plasma TV series, are missing from this model. It provides various options to access internet, but only through the traditional method using wires.
The TV provides much better and lively video quality with features like 1080p resolution, fine black panel, and IPS alpha-LED panel. You can enjoy all types of programs and shows with an original 1080p full HD resolution. Further, the latest movies can also be enjoyed with the original, which is also used for making these movies. With the 1780 angular viewing options provided by the model, you can enjoy clear scenes and images by sitting at any part of the room. Your kids will not disturb you, when they are allowed to occupy the front seats, which are always in great demand.
However, the 60 Hz refresh rate offered by the set will have an impact in viewing the scenes requiring much faster motion. It will not make the sports and action programs and movies enjoyable in a manner similar to the normal shows. Your kids will not like the set as the refresh rate will affect the viewing of their favorite shows. The set comes with game mode support, but the lower refresh rate will affect playing video games on the 42-inch LED screen.
Panasonic TC-L42E3 Features and Specifications Review:
- 60Hz Refresh Rate
- 1080p Full HD Resolution
- Fine Black Panel
- IPS Alpha-LED Panel
- Game Mode
- VIERA Link
- 4 HDMI
- 2 USB
- PC Input
You will like the various input options offered by the model to connect additional digital devices, and access the content stored on those devices on a bigger TV screen. You can connect the Blu-rays player, camcorder, digital camera through the HDMI ports. Again, there are options to connect 2 USB devices along with a PC. The VIERA Image Viewer further allows you to access the images and videos recorded and stored on the SD memory card. These connectivity options enhance the overall functionality of the TV set and make it usable as a multi-purpose device similar to a personal computer.
However, the set can be used to connect to the internet and access online content only through the traditional and wired connection. Unlike the plasma TV sets previewed the manufacturer; this set neither does nor come with built-in Wi-Fi and wireless connectivity options. But you can use the VIERA link feature to access streaming content from a wide range of online streaming service providers and social networks. As the TV is being launched in 2011, one could expect the wireless connectivity features offered by other manufacturers in similar models. The TV set scores high on the video related and connectivity features. You can consider the TV to use it as a back up set for your living room TV.
