Up for review: Panasonic TC-L19X1 LCD TV. The X1 series from Panasonic features the iPod entertainment kit as a special treat for music enthusiasts. This kit will provide music, videos and photos on the HDTV screen. Although the Panasonic TC-L19X1 is not very large and is made to be used as a second TV in the house, the iPod can still be connected to make your viewing more worthwhile. The connectivity is defined by the VIERA Link. There are special interface capabilities which make connecting the iPod pretty easy. The remote has a VIERA Tools button which displays the iPod icon on the HDTV. All the features of the iPod will then be available on the HDTV.
The VIERA Image Viewer works in combination with the SD card slot. After taking a few snaps of your brief holiday with friends, you can see it in the HDTV. All you have to do is fit the stamp-size SD memory card from the camera into the SD card slot in the Panasonic TC-L19X1. A review shows that the photos look really good when seen in enlarged sizes.
The VIERA Link is another wonderful feature on the Panasonic TC-L19X1. With this feature, you can link all the devices, like camcorder and DVD player, through a single remote. The remote that you use for your HDTV will control all the devices. The only catch is that they have to be connected through the HDMI connections.

The Panasonic TC-L19X1 has 720p resolution. This feature is alright on the small HDTV. The clarity is still very good and since most of the telecasts on TV are on 720p, there is no problem. The contrast ratio is a good 12,000:1 which makes for crisp and clear images.
The power consumption is not a problem as the Panasonic TC-L19X1 sticks to Energy Star requirements. This feature is common to most branded HDTVs. Since power is such a big problem today, conserving it is everyone’s responsibility.
There is only 1 HDMI connection. The connectivity could be much better with more HDMI but this will suffice for the small size. A review shows that the Panasonic TC-L19X1 is quite good as a second TV to be kept in the small rooms like an office or kitchen.
