Mitsubishi LT-52148 Review – 52-inch LCD HDTV
Originally Reviewed on September 8th, 2009Mitsubishi LT-52148 Review: 52” LCD HDTV
Up for Review: Mitsubishi LT-52148 LCD TV. Carrying on with its RPTV tradition, Mitsubishi includes an all-picture front panel which looks awesome when put on. The very thin black bezel is just there to complete the norms. Even the portion below the display containing the speakers is less than 3 inches wide. The LCD TV is also very thin making for a very sleek HDTV. It has a black, swivel stand which can be rotated to get access to the ports at the side and behind the TV. You can also enjoy the pictures at any angle from the TV by just swiveling the stand.
The remote is a decent one with the buttons arranged nicely on the top. It fits well into the hand and the important buttons are backlit which helps in easy manipulation. The shape of the buttons is similar for all functions which do not allow you to distinguish the buttons by feeling them. The menu shows up a lot of useful information helping in navigation. However, you might face some problems with the NetCommand feature. This feature allows the TV to link all the connected devices with a 2 unit IR emitter.

A review shows that the 120 Hz refresh rate has been further strengthened by dejudder processing in the Mitsubishi LT-52148. When a film is shot at 24 frames per second, it tends to include some judder with it. This judder is smoothened out by the newly introduced dejudder processing. The 120 Hz refresh rate is also instrumental in reducing the blurring and presenting a better picture for you to view. The 1080p native resolution improves picture quality with help from a “full native” aspect ratio mode which prevents scaling while displaying the pixels.
There are a number of connectivity options on the Mitsubishi LT-52148. 4 HDMI and an USB port form the core of the inputs. Others include 3 component video inputs, 2 RF inputs, S-video and composite video input, a stereo analog audio output and a coaxial digital audio output. However, Mitsubishi fails to resolve the two main issues of color accuracy and black levels. The not-so-black color in most scenes and greenish color leaves a lot of scope for improvement. But for the price of $1487.97 MSRP, the Mitsubishi LT-52148 is a pretty attractive choice.
