Up for Review: Magnavox 32MD357B LCD TV. The combination package of an HDTV with a DVD player makes an exciting entry into the world of LCDs. The DVD player can play every format including DivX. The only formats which cannot be accessed are SACD and DVD-A. The HDTV can be mounted on the walls and will have a fewer number of cables hanging because of the in-built DVD player. It can be kept on its stand too. The stand is quite sturdy and can support the HDTV gracefully.
A review of the Magnavox 32MD357B shows that it has an integrated ATSC/QAM tuner which can stream content from free-to-air signals. You don’t necessarily have to connect a set-top box to view TV programs. This HDTV also has a 176 degree viewing angle. This is good enough to view the TV at even the most off-angles. The color and black levels do not seem to fade much at the edges.

The Magnavox 32MD357B has a high definition resolution of 1366 x 768p. This indicates the good picture quality of the HDTV. The absence of 1080p resolution is not felt much except perhaps in the picture quality of the DVD player. The TV programs are mostly telecast in 720p; hence the programs viewed on the TV have a good quality. Along with high definition resolution, the HDTV also has 1200:1 contrast ratio. This figure isn’t very good and so the black levels are not so well defined.
A review suggests that there is a VGA input in the Magnavox 32MD357B which allows the HDTV to act as a computer monitor. You can now surf the net on a larger screen and have the best images to view. Connectivity is also very good in this HDTV. It has 2 component video inputs and 2 S-video inputs. Additionally, there are 2 HDMI connections which will aid in connecting digital devices. You can connect camcorders and gaming devices and get maximum fun out of it. You can take this HDTV home and get value for money.
