Originally Reviewed on March 18th, 2009LG 55LH90 Review: 55″ LCD HDTV
Up for review: LG 55LH90 LCD TV. The LG 55LH90, part of the LH90 Series, has quite a few similar features as the LHX Series. However, unlike the LHX Series, this LCD model has no separate set top box for its wireless capability feature.
The super slim LCD panel which is less than 1-inch thick, offers a completely new HDTV design as compared to the earlier LCD panels. The new LG 55LH90 boasts LED backlit with local dimming feature which is most likely to deliver superior picture quality with improved black-level performance. Darker scenes will appear with improved clarity. In addition to this, the new LCD has TruMotion 240 Hz refresh rate which is double than the standard 120Hz, which will produce superlative image output without any motion blur. This higher refresh rate is expected to perform better than the conventional dejudder processing. However, this 240 Hz is recommended for high definition viewing.
A whopping Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 2,000,000:1 is likely to improvise the color contrast even further in the LG 55LH90 LCD TV. And LG’s proprietary Intelligent Sensor will adjust the brightness of the images according to the room light. This is one of LG’s many energy saving features. Another LG innovation is the Super-In Plane Switching (S-IPS) LCD panel structure which will facilitate in faster response times and better color contrast. Due to its efficient and energy saving features, the new LG 55LH90 is awarded with Energy Star 3.0 certification.
Expected to be available in market during summer 2009, LG is yet to announce the price of the 55LH90 LCD HDTV.
