The 47-inch 47LG90 LCD HDTV, available with a price of around $3,599.95 MSRP, is LG group’s first attempt at LED backlighting for HDTV’s. This means more natural color representation with whiter whites and richer blacks. In addition the LED local dimming technology benefits in increasing the energy efficiency. LED light sources are the cutting edge for LCD HDTV’s so prices are coming out fairly steep but the picture is surprisingly better than most LCD TV’s.

This LCD high-end TV has LG’s proprietary XD Engine technology which converts low-resolution analog signals to near high-definition levels to provide better picture quality.
