LG 47LG60 Review: 47″ 1080p LCD TV

Up for review: the all new LG 47LG60. Gloss Piano Black embellished with Scarlet Red gives the 47LG60 a completely different look than your regular Flat TVs. Part of LG’s new “Scarlet” series, this 47LG60 LCD HDTV is a blend of contemporary style and superb picture quality.

This LCD TV has one of the best picture controls which minimize detail-destroying motion blur while preserving good color quality at even the widest viewing angles. Videophiles will especially love its advanced HD video processing feature.

The 1920 x 1080p native resolution in the 47LG60 is the highest resolution you get in any HDTV so far. Plus with more than two million pixels, clearer and sharper images are guaranteed in this 47LG60. LG’s proprietary Intelligent Sensor automatically adjusts the color contrast, brightness and sharpness according to the panel surrounding.

With a price tag of around $1,699.99 MSRP, this model is not the cheapest in LG’s line up but extra features are included.

Enjoyment with the all new 47LG60 LCD TV is not restricted to only basic video or high television watching. With 4 HDMI V1.3 inputs, you can enjoy content of other external components such as DVD player, TiVo, Blu-ray player, plus multi-channel digital audio. Also its HDMI is fully backward-compatible with DVI and you can even view JPEG images through its USB 2.0 input.

The only negative feedback about this LCD TV reported in reviews is its backlight level setting that is too bright for dark rooms. Also certain jagged edges are visible in SD material. Apart from this two, the LG 47LG60 shows superior performance in all other aspects.

The new LG 47LG60 is overall a great HDTV. The price is a little high compared to some competition but on sale or after some price drops, the LG 47LG60 could be a great bargain.
