Up for review: LG 42LH55 42-inch LCD TV. LG is about to launch its latest range of HDTV’s in March 2009, LG’s fans are eagerly waiting to see the improvements and additions in this series! The LG – LH baseline 240Hz range is a four-model series, which includes the 37-inch 37LH55, the 42-inch 42LH55, the 47-inch 47LH55 and the 55-inch 55LH55.
LG is highlighting the 240Hz technology which is being introduced in the LG 42LH55 and others in the range. This technology features scanning backlight that outperforms other 240Hz methods. 240Hz models deliver better motion blur reduction and crystal clear images. TruMotion 240Hz uses a unique scanning backlight technique to improve motion picture response time with a more natural picture which should be interesting for action junkies.
The LG 42LH55 LCD TV model also offers extensive picture controls, including the 10-point IRE system and full color management controls, like its forerunners. The new “picture wizard” facility employs a series of onscreen test patterns to ease user calibration. The LG42LH55 also offers ‘a smart room lighting sensor’ that helps improve efficiency and automatically adjust the picture points. According to LG, the system improves upon the so-called MEMC system used by Sony and Samsung because it requires fewer processing steps.
