LG 42LG60 Review: 42″ 1080p LCD TV

Up for review: LG 42LG60. With impressive style, very good image quality and other advanced features, the all new 42LG60 from LG is an instant attention grabber. At a price of around $1,499.99 MSRP, the 42LG60 offers a more conventional 1080p LCD display.

Although this LCD TV has no advanced THX video specifications to adjust the local dimming, its 120-hertz refresh rate improves the black level and contrast of the LCD set. There is no S-video input in LG 42LG60, but with three HDMI 1.3 connections, one PC input and an analog VGA (RGB) input jack you have much better options for connectivity. In addition, you can view photos or even listen to music stored on a USB flash drive thanks to its composite A/V tuner and the USB 2.0 jack.

The ATSC and NTSC tuners and LG’s proprietary SimpLink™ technology facilitate digital output from external audio. The audio sounds a shade better than what you’ll hear from other flat panels with its decent voice reproduction, but for higher volume levels, you‘ll want an upgraded surround sound.
