LG 26LE5300 Review – 26-inch LED HDTV
Originally Reviewed on February 5th, 2010LG 26LE5300 Review: 26” LED HDTV
Up for Review: LG 26LE5300 LED TV. This is where LG starts making compromises with the price and the technology. This set is a step down version of the TVs announced this year. With the display resolution being reduced to 720p from the impressionable 1080p, the picture quality is a bit affected if you consider watching movies with the Blu-ray disc player. But since most of the TV programs are being transmitted in 720p, there is no chance of feeling any change in the picture quality if you are addicted to the soaps and talk shows on TV. Besides, you will also feel happy to be getting a more affordable TV to buy.
But LG seems to have spent more time and technology in improving the looks, picture performance, brightness and energy efficiency in this generally neglected category of HDTVs. With none of the biggies usually opting for this display size of 26”, the manufacturers too tend to lose interest in promoting them. But this time, LG seems to have discovered the niche consumers aiming for this category of TVs and has tried its best to make it stand out even with the small number of advanced features. The looks are just the same as in the higher end versions and to add to it, LG has plans to release it in January itself, much before the other models are launched.
LG 26LE5300 Features and Specifications Review:
- 26″ Widescreen LED-Backlit LCD Display
- 720p Native Resolution
- 16:9 Image Aspect Ratio
- 60Hz Refresh Rate
The LG 26LE5300 has however been equipped with the LG Core technologies like the Picture Wizard. You can get an optimized image with this feature. And the audio section really gets a boost with Clear Voice II. Even when the volume is turned down, you can hear every little sound quite clearly. The dialogues can be heard distinctly, above the sound of the background noises. Furthermore, you have the AV Mode II which has modes dedicated to sports, news, movies and regular programming. Switching between these modes is very easy paving the way for browsing all the news channels or movie channels at once.
The refresh rate is 60 Hz which maybe a little less considering that the pricey 3D models to be launched this year have 480 Hz refresh rate. But it is expected that there will be no blurring or trailing behind in the images. The picture quality is certainly good enough by LG traditions. Though the price is yet to be announced, yet it will surely be within the reach of the usual consumer. This TV may not have the latest technologies introduced by LG, but it is still a product which is sure to get great acclaim.
HDTVUniverse.com gives LG 26LE5300 3/5 stars!

Well, for the record, there are no Sony, Samsung, LG or Panasonic LCD Tvs of size 26 inch which is full HD! They are all HD ready meaning only HDMI supports 1080p and they all come in resolutions of 1366X768 with 720p native resolutions no matther which brand you buy as of the current date! And the same stands true for the LG 26LE5300!!! So basically its not a blowdown by LG as mentioned in the original post! Its more expensive than the LCD compatriots in 26 inch size but then its one of the the very few LED tvs available in 26 inch size! Samsung has come out with one and Sony has none! About whether its better than a 26 inch LCD Tv…..it definitely is as per the picture quality(personal experience) and in comparison to similarly priced 32 inch LCD TVs in reality in terms of picture quality it literally pulls the pants off the 32 inch LCD TVs including the ones which has Full HD! Thats LED technology for you! About whether LG or Samsung 26 inch LED TV is better??? Thats of course a different story though I personally liked the quality of LG more especiallly in moving pictures but then thats more about my personal taste and yours may differ!!!

Of course Samsung 32 LN32A300, but this model was rleaese in Feb 06 and it is replaced with Samsung LN32A450 which also 32 which cost about $ 600 at Amazon. But if your budget is limit at $ 500, why don’t you go for Sony Bravia KDL-32L4000. It’s petty good choice with $ 499 right now. You can check details from these links.Hope it help
