Up for Review: JVC LT-32P679 LCD TV. Having a resolution of 720p, this HDTV sells for a lower price of $600 MSRP, but more than makes up for it with the introduction of the innovative iPod dock. It is a flip-down dock which opens just below the front display. It can accommodate the iPod or iPhone. You can view all the music, photos and videos from the iPod on the JVC LT-32P679 and at the same time get your iPod charged. Your iPod can get charged on the dock as long as your HDTV is on. However, the downside is that you cannot select your playlists, artists or albums on the HDTV screen. You can do this only in the iPod.
A review shows that all the inputs and outputs are located at the rear. The important inputs include 3 HDMI for connecting to gaming consoles, camcorders or DVD players; and 1 USB port for plugging in your digital camera. There are a good number of other ports which are all located at the rear right of the HDTV. Although it has good connectivity, the JVC LT-32P679 does not sport a good remote. The remote is pretty clumsy and also shows up menus which have very small font. The translucent effect on the letters also makes it difficult to read.

The surround sound system of the JVC LT-32P679 is not very impressive. There are built-in speakers but they all fail to provide the sound effects of a Panasonic or a Sony product. Talking about the picture quality, the black levels are quite good but the white levels can still be improved. There is room for improvement of the whites. It is the same with colors. Bright colors look lackadaisical on the screen. The sober colors look alright. So if you are willing to make compromises, the JVC LT-32P679 is not a bad set to have.
The viewing angle is good for one who gets to sit directly in front of the TV. If you stray to a corner of the room, you may not get a good view. The colors will tend to fade and the picture quality is affected. But for the small price, the JVC LT-32P679 is a good buy. There are many features which will keep you engrossed. This is also a good set to purchase as a second TV for your house also.
