Element ELEFT321 Review: 32” LCD HDTV
Up for Review: Element ELEFT321 LCD TV. Element was enamored enough by the latest trend in the HDTV world to introduce its own LCD model. This 32-inch set from the manufacturer does not have a large display size but is rich in features which matter most, viz, a resolution of 1080p and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. But you do wish that the screen size would have been a little larger so that you could have placed it in the living room. However, considering its low price, you will feel tempted to buy it for your kids or for your own office room.
The full HD resolution in this set is a great point in its favor which helps viewers to opt for it. You can expect to see very sharp pictures considering that it is only a 32-inch set. The images excel in clarity too. Since the TV programs are mostly telecast in 720p, you won’t find much of a difference in the picture quality here but when you watch movies on the Blu-ray player, you will really love the images. The contrast ratio is good at 4000:1 which means that you get pretty good black levels. The brightness is not as good as the other Element models but you can still see the TV under both bright and dim lights.

This set has a refresh rate of 120 Hz which is very good for watching action movies and sports scenes. The frames are replaced very fast in these scenes and therefore the TV should be equal to the task of showing the images without any blurring. The movies are also filmed at 24 fps, which needs a refresh rate which is a multiple of 24 to sync with it. That is why a refresh rate of 60 Hz is unable to keep out the blurring whereas 120 Hz is adequate to produce crisp images with no blurring. This set also has a good response time of 4.5 ms.
Connectivity is almost the same in most of the Element models. It has maintained 3 HDMI in this model too with a few composite and component video inputs. With the 3 HDMI, you can think of connecting Blu-ray player, camcorder, gaming console and the like. This model also gives you the option of connecting digital camera through the USB port. But the audio system in the HDTV tells an entirely different story. It is only 3W which is not good if you want to hear the voices clearly. You need to connect a separate home theater system to get better sound quality. This is a good second TV in the house.
HDTVUniverse.com gives Element ELEFT321 3/5 stars!
