Up for Review: AOC L19W89V LCD TV. In spite of being a late entrant into the ever growing HDTV market, AOC has launched a number of TV sets with different screen sizes. L19W89V has got a comparatively small size of 19”; still it comes with some of the basic and advanced features which are found in other advanced and bigger sets. Further, with a very low price tag, the LCD TV fits perfectly into the role of a second set for your bedroom or kids room. The model provides a screen resolution of 720 p which goes fine with its not so big screen size.
You will like some of the impressive features included in the set by AOC like 6000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, and 160 º viewing from both horizontal and vertical angles. The picture quality is further improved with support for over 16 million colors. Still, you cannot enjoy the fast moving action and sports scenes due to only 60Hz refresh rate of the set. This is not going to be a big problem for you as you are not going to place the LCD TV in your main living room. Also, your kids may complain about the model, after failing to fully enjoy their most loved action series. The sharpness varies from station to station and show to show, which will makes you adjust the system while doing a channel surfing.

L19W89V provides better transmission and connectivity by supporting standards like Analog NTSC, Digital ASTC and Clear-QAM Tuners. You can tune in additional digital devices like DVD player, camcorder, video games and digital camera by connecting with the PC. This will make you enjoy the contents directly on your LCD TV screen, even though those are stored in different devices. This feature adds primary functionality of your PC to the set. Your kids will be disappointed as they cannot play your video games on the TV screen, due to unavailability of game mode support by the HDTV. Unlike other AOC models, the L19W89V does not support online content viewing and you will miss streaming movies and shows available on the leading networks like Netflix and YouTube.
The 19” LCD TV from AOC is suitable to be a second TV set in your house, which you will use occasionally to watch news and normal TV shows.
