Best LED TV’s

Originally Reviewed on December 7th, 2011

LED TV’s are one of the most popular types of HDTV’s being sold in 2011 and HDTV Universe is breaking down the Best LED TV’s on the market right now. LED TV’s are a type of LCD TV’s but come with a slightly higher price tag and range of features. By consuming slightly less energy, creating a brighter picture and having a stunningly thin profile, LED HDTV’s are finding their way into homes all over the world. As prices fall more in line with traditional LCD TV’s, you may see LED become the new standard.

HDTV Universe reviewed the Best LED TV’s on the market today and analyzed all the important features like resolution, aspect ratio, refresh rate and other perks like 3D HDTV capability, Internet connectivity, apps and found the best LED TV’s on the market today.

Sony HX929 series

Used from: $1,500.00 In Stock

Sony’s HX929 series from the Sony BRAVIA XBR series (their elite HDTV’s) features both 46″ and 55″ LED TV’s. Although expensive, Sony’s HX929 series is quite possibly one of the best HDTV lines on the market today of all plasma, LCD or LED TV’s. The picture quality competes with plasma but you get all the perks of the thinness and energy savings of an LED.

Sony included many of their proprietary features like Motionflow technology to reduce blurring, wireless BRAVIA Internet TV so you can stream media from sites like Netflix and also search the web. If your wallet can stomach the price, you’ll definitely be happy with the HX929 LED TV series from Sony.

Samsung D8000 series

The D8000 series is Samsung’s top of the line LED series. The first thing you’ll notice about the D8000 series is it’s striking appearance. It has virtually no frame and an uncommon, claw-like stand. You’ll definitely get compliments on this LED TV, even when it’s turned off.

The D8000 series comes with a lot of great size options including 46″, 55″, 60″ and 65″. The D8000 is dropping to a more reasonable price range and even includes 2 pairs of 3D glasses which will save you a few bucks down the road.

Samsung has included their Smart TV features with apps and a browser so you can easily connect to the Internet. With 240hz refresh rate, 1080p and many other video quality features built-in, you’ll enjoy the picture quality as much as the extras that come with the D8000 LED TV series.

Vizio XVT3SV Series

List Price: $1,699.99 USD

If you are weighing quality and price, the Vizio XVT3SV series is the hands-down winner. The picture quality competes with other LED TV’s on this list and the price is much more reasonable. For an LED TV, the XVT3SV is a little thick and not the most attractive. It also doesn’t have 3D but in our opinion, 3D still has a long way to go so it may not be worth investing in now. If the trendy exterior appearance and 3D TV isn’t a must-have for you, you’ll enjoy the great picture, connectivity and VIA apps.

The Vizio XVT3SV LED HDTV’s come in 32″, 37″, 47″ and 55″ options.

LG LW6500 series

The 2011 LG LW6500 series is LG’s top of the line LED TV’s. Available in 47″, 55″ and 65″ screen sizes, LG provides a few size options which directly relates to a nice range in pricing. The LG LW6500 includes many of the common options released in 2011 like 3D TV, Wi-Fi, apps and more. LG has even gone a step further than most other HDTV manufacturers and provided 4 pairs of 3D TV glasses.

Due to a great picture quality, new features, great exterior appearance and a very reasonable price, the LG LW6500 series easily makes the 2012 Best LED TV’s list.
